Ben works with faculty and staff to evaluate and develop and design traditional face-to-face, hybrid, and online courses for North Carolina A & T State University. He also implements Quality Matters standards in course evaluation and development and trains faculty how to use online tools to accomplish their teaching goals. Previously at Elon University, Ben served as an Instructional Designer and Academic Technology Specialist and also participated in research into the Scholarship of Teaching and Learning (SoTL). He has presented at regional and national Lily conferences on faculty development, online instruction, and web access to collective and emergent knowledge in the field of faculty development. He earned his B.A. in Communications and M.Ed. in Educational Media from UNC Chapel Hill, and is currently studying for his Ph.D. in Educational Research and Information Systems at UNCG. Outside of higher education, Ben has developed print, video, and interactive media for corporate, governmental, and nonprofit organizations.
