In late 2015, NC State began working on a Cybersecurity Strategic Plan, with cybersecurity awareness as its first goal. With cyber threats to campus becoming more pressing, OIT's Outreach, Communications, and Consulting (OCC) group fast-tracked the development of end-user training by creating new courses and injecting cybersecurity best practices throughout existing training and outreach channels. While the Cybersecurity Strategic Plan team, budget, and priorities continue to align, OCC has laid a firm foundation of security training and awareness efforts that are being used to further shape the direction and goals of the program. This presentation will give a “before and after” look at cybersecurity training at NC State, including stand alone classes, marketing campaigns, and new employee orientation materials.
