All organizations contend with the constant threat of malicious cyber actors, however as Higher Education IT professionals we often face unique challenges including open environments, broad technology platforms, and significant resource constraints.

In light of the challenges, it has been increasingly important that Higher Ed. IT professionals develop a basic "offensive mindset" that helps us proactively identify security issues and weaknesses.

This presentation will cover ideas, free resources, and initiatives that can help both IT managers and technical teams (safely) cultivate habits, skills, and tools to help proactively spot and fix common security issues.
