Preparing Teachers for the Online Classroom (i3@UNC)

Sign up or log in to save this to your schedule and see who's attending!

Today, nearly half of the UNC system’s students — 46 percent — take an online course at least once during their college career, and 11 percent take courses fully online. The University of North Carolina Instructional Innovation Incubator (i3 @UNC) is a hands-on, residential program for faculty developing new online, blended, hybrid, or otherwise technologically-enhanced courses. The week long intensive program combines guest speakers discussing a range of topics including course design, assessment, and integrating active tools into online courses. The organizers also arranged for structured time with UNC System instructional technologists, so faculty could work on their courses. In this session, hear from the IT Consultants who participated in i3@UNC by supporting faculty. What are some of the challenges facing a support team when faculty are developing new, more technically-enhanced courses? Come participate in the discussion.
